Q.

Hard to Reach Lawyer?

A.

Our promise is we will return your phone call the same day, or no later than the next day.  You can contact us through our website "Contact Us" form, by email or by telephone. Your case will not be "handed off" to another lawyer.  The lawyer you talk to will be the lawyer who will handle your case to its conclusion.  We return your calls the same day, if possible, and no later than the next day.  We work on an hourly rate or contingency fee basis depending on the kind or type of case you have and our fees are competitive. We are sensitive to your needs, familiar with applicable law of your case and will reach a conclusion as soon as is reasonably possible.

Q.

Wills, Trusts, or Estate Plans?

A.

Who needs a Will, Trust, or an Estate Plan? Everyone who has property of any kind should make plans for its distribution upon death.  If you do not have a will, trust, or an estate plan, the state of Oklahoma has provided for distribution of your property, and it likely will not be the way you would want it divided or distributed. With a will, trust or estate plan, you can do whatever you want with your property.  With a will, trust, or estate plan your children and heirs will not be burdened with difficult decisions regarding what you would have wanted them to do. A lawyer can assist you by helping you make decisions now which will be beneficial to your children when you are gone.  Everybody needs a will, trust or estate plan.

Q.

Personal Injury and Insurance Claims?

A.

When people get hurt in auto accidents, products liability related claims or work related accidents, most are more interested in getting well than in protecting their rights.  Most people would be much better off having an attorney deal with insurance companies, manufacturers, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc. than trying to take care of the related claims themselves. Insurance, products liability, Medicare matters, Social Security and Workers Compensation matters are so complicated these days, most people will be taken advantage of if they don’t have legal representation. You should always consult an attorney in these circumstances.

Q.

Why Mediation?

A.

Almost every lawsuit filed can be mediated instead of tried before a jury or a judge.  Mediation can be done for hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars less than jury or judge trials and can be done much quicker. Call Lee & Kisner Associates if you have questions about mediation.

Q.

Handling Divorce?

A.

You can, but it almost surely will be a disaster for you, particularly if there are children or real property involved.  At least talk to a lawyer if you are thinking about doing this. We have handled lots of divorce cases after a party represented himself or herself, just cleaning up the mess they made.

Q.

Why Hire an Attorney?

A.

Our lives today are complicated.  That is especially true when we deal with insurance companies, banks, and businesses which want to make a profit.  Most of us don’t have the time or expertise to be aware of regulations, rules, and the issues which affect us.  Insurance companies, banks and businesses, however, have numbers of attorneys and legally trained personnel to help them accomplish their goal of making a profit at your expense.  Language in contracts is sometimes difficult to understand and is often in “fine print”. Therefore, it is always a good idea to consult a lawyer when you feel uncomfortable, uninformed, or think you may be at a disadvantage.
